An Android guy recommending an iPhone

We can argue all day which is better: iPhone or Android phone.  We are passionate about what we like, and we all have our opinion about each of the OS.

Which is why I like +Christopher Dawson‘s post about recommending an iPhone to his mom.  I like the level headedness of it.  Much like +ReadWriteWeb‘s post on how to buy a smartphone

At the end of the day, the crucial questions to ask when deciding which to buy (iPhone, Android or Windows) are:

  • “Why do you want a smartphone?”
  • “What are you using the smartphone for?”
  • “What OS ecosystem are you familiar with and/or knee-deep in?”
Summary: When my mom said she was ready to get a smartphone and wanted a recommendation, I thought for about 20 seconds and then said “Just get an iPhone.”
